 First Holy Communion 2023​


 
 A year 4 child (turning 9) who is Baptised and has made their Confirmation is able to be welcomed to the Lord's table and receive Holy Communion for the first time. 'Archdiocese of Brisbane Sacramental Policy'.

The program runs over a period of six weeks and concludes with the Sacrament of First Holy Communion on 26th/27th August at a Mass of choice. (Saturday 6pm, Sunday 9pm, Sunday 5pm)

If you feel your child is ready to begin preparation for Holy Communion, please note the following dates and times.  These are posted so that families are able to plan ahead. 

It is not necessary to supply a Baptismal Certificate if your child has been baptised at Our Lady and St Dympna's Parish and has already been part of our Confirmation program.
 
Enrolments for the 2023 program will OPEN on  Friday 23rd June at 5pm and CLOSE on Monday 17th  July at 5pm.

First Holy Communion Preparation

Parent/Carer Information evening. 
Adults only to attend. (mandatory) 
             Wednesday 19th July 10am - 11.00am OR 7.00pm - 8.00pm 

Rite of Enrolment mass (Please bring Parent Permission Form)
             Any mass during the weekend of 22nd/23th July 
             
Saturday 6pm, Sunday 7.00am, 9.00am or 5.00pm
    
Attendance at ONE Workshop. Child and parent/carer to attend 
(mandatory) 
Either Saturday 12th August 4.00pm - 5.30pm
              Sunday 13th August 10:15am -11:45am
        or Sunday 13th August 3:00pm - 4:30pm

Attendance at the Liturgy of Mercy. Child and parent/carer to attend 
(mandatory)
            Thursday 24th August 6.00pm - 7.00pm.

Attendance at ONE practice session. Child and parent/carer to attend (mandatory)
Either Friday 25th August 4:00pm
         or Friday 12th August 5:00pm
 
Celebration of Holy Communion 

Either Saturday 26th August 6:00pm
        or Sunday 27th August 9:00am or 5:00pm
