 First Holy Communion 2021​

 

  A year 4 child (turning 9) who is Baptised and has made their Confirmation is able to be welcomed to the Lord's table and receive Holy Communion for the first time. 'Archdiocese of Brisbane Sacramental Policy'.

The program runs over a period of six weeks and concludes with the Sacrament of First Holy Communion on 4th/5th September and 11th/12th September at a Mass of choice. (Saturday 6pm, Sunday 9pm, Sunday 5pm)

If you feel your child is ready to begin preparation for Holy Communion, please note the following dates and times.  These are posted so that families are able to plan ahead. 

It is not necessary to supply a Baptismal Certificate if your child has been baptised at Our Lady and St Dympna's Parish and has already been part of Confirmation.
 
Enrolments for the 2021 program will OPEN on Monday 5th July at 5pm and CLOSE on Tuesday 20th  July at 5pm.

First Holy Communion Preparation

Parent/Carer Information evening
(mandatory) Covid19 restrictions are in place and information sessions are limited to ONE parent only attending.
Wednesday 21st July 7.00pm - 8.00pm
      
Attendance at ONE Workshop
(mandatory) Covid19 restrictions require number limits to be applied to workshop venues.  We ask that parents/carers please sign in and leave their child/children for the duration of the workshop.
Either Saturday 28th August 10:15am -12:15pm
        or Saturday 28th August 2:30pm - 4:30pm

Attendance at ONE practice session 
Covid19 restrictions require number limits to be applied to the church space.  Only ONE adult may attend the practice session with each child.
Either Friday 3rd September 3:30pm
         or Friday 3rd September 5:00pm
 
Celebration of Eucharist
Covid19 restrictions require number limits to be applied to the church space.
Either Saturday 4th September 6:00pm
